Textbook: Mathematics
This three-week class is designed for those students entering grades 6-8 who need reinforcement of foundational skills to help them succeed in their middle school math classes. The skills focused on will depend upon student needs, but will cover topics such as operations with decimals, fractions, percentages, order of operations, equations, and exponents. This is a great class for those students to find confidence in math and help them succeed in the upcoming school year. Students will be assessed through quizzes and tests.

Kristen Amouri teaches Algebra I and Geometry at Sandy Spring Friends School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bard College. Before coming to SSFS, Kristen was a Math for America fellow in New York City.
Fun Fact : Kristen loves knitting, kayaking and reading!
